We’ve been living in a country where we promote and proclaim freedom. But to many, freedom is just an abstract word that most can’t afford. Freedoom. A society constrained by its traditions and social norms, more often than not, dirty politics.

La Libertad Filipinas Shines a spotlight on this so-called “Liberty” by dissecting aspects of it thru the visual medium. Inspired by propaganda posters of the past, the artists involved are tasked to create a physical representation of what freedom is to them.

MY BLOODY MANILA [血まみれの マニラ] - Concept Cover My ‘Manga’ project that will never see the light of the day. Basically, an alternate universe where the Empire of Japan won the WWII and gains total control of the whole Asia-Pacific region. The story revolves around an orphan Filipino boy [parents were murdered], how he grew up inside a ‘camp’ and how he deals with life on a foreign-military controlled country. He then joins the army [“if you can’t beat them from the outside, maybe you can inside” plot] then he dies in the end. Or maybe not. Whatever. [This post also coincides with the “Anniversary of the Battle for Manila” today… Americans call it ‘Liberation’, we should call it ‘Mass Murder’]
